Disinsectization limits the hazard for public health.

Control of hazardous insects

Disinsectization is a treatment performed in order to eliminate flying and crawling insects, their eggs and larvae. The methods enable an efficient elimination of pests in the agriculture and food processing and in food warehouses.

Disinsectization is performed by application of physical measures (steam, fire, hot air, UV radiation), mechanical measures (catching, scutching, cleaning), chemical measures (insecticides) and biological measures (pest control with other living organisms).

The disinfection method is used for insects control (cockroaches, bedbugs, thysanura, ants, moths, flies, wasps, hornets, argasidae, black flies and others) and also warehouse pests (i.a.: weevils, confused flour beetles, mill moths, indian mealmoths, flour mite, beetles and others).

Prevention in food plants

In order the limit the access of pests to the facilities, it is recommended to:

  • keep the premises clean,
  • fix the building cavities,
  • take care of premises insectproofing,
  • keep food in tightly closed containers, concerning social premises,
  • take care of hygiene and cleanness of premises for waste or waste discharge places,
  • close the door and provide the windows with insects protection nets.

How does the disinsectization treatment look?

In order to eliminate harmful insects from the facility, all premises must be made available. All structural gaps must be filled in order to prevent insects from getting inside. Remove food waste, clean the floor and provide access to walls and surfaces that are to be disinfected. Any food should be protected or removed.

Equipment used for production must be tightly covered with foil and thoroughly cleaned after the finished treatment. Premises must be closed during the disinsectization treatment. People, animals and house plants must not be present in facility where the disinsectization treatment takes place.

In case of disinsectization performed by thermal spraying, all ventilation openings should be sealed and the fire protection system should be switched off.

Having finished the disinsectization treatment, all the involved premises should be thoroughly ventilated. After the treatment all surfaces must be cleaned with water mixed with detergent. Dead insects should be removed immediately.
